Official Server Rules

Read the standards. Protect the RP.

Hearts County Roleplay is a serious RP community. Every player is expected to know these rules before joining and to follow them in game, on Discord, and across the rest of the community.

Binding Agreement

Joining the server means you accept the policy on this page.

Required
By connecting to Hearts County Roleplay, you agree to all rules listed here. Ignorance of the rules is not a valid defense after enforcement action is taken.

Staff Interpretation

Edge cases are handled in context, not by loophole hunting.

Enforced
Staff have final say on rule interpretation. If a situation is not written word-for-word but clearly breaks the spirit of serious RP, it can still be actioned.

Need Clarification?

Ask before you turn uncertainty into a punishable choice.

Support
If you are unsure how a rule applies, open a question in Discord before acting. That is faster than arguing after a report is filed.

General Rules
Review every item in this section before joining scenarios that touch it.
8 rules
Treat every member of the community with respect at all times — in-game, on Discord, and on all Hearts County platforms. Harassment, personal attacks, excessive toxicity, and targeted bullying will not be tolerated.
Racism, homophobia, sexism, and any other form of hate speech or discrimination will result in an immediate and permanent ban. There are no warnings for this rule.
Using modified clients, external software, in-game exploits, or any method to gain an unfair advantage is an immediate permanent ban. This includes money duplication, map glitches, and abuse of unintended game mechanics.
Advertising other FiveM servers, Discord communities, or services — in-game or on our Discord — is strictly prohibited without explicit staff permission.
Each player is limited to one account. Creating alternate accounts to bypass bans or punishments will result in a permanent ban on all associated accounts.
You must be at least 16 years old to play on Hearts County Roleplay. Maturity is expected from all players at all times.
Rejoining the server during an active ban — by any method — will convert your ban to a permanent one. Use the official appeal process in Discord instead.
If you disagree with a staff decision, use the proper ban appeal or staff complaint process in Discord. Arguing with staff publicly or harassing staff members will result in additional punishment.
Roleplay Standards
Review every item in this section before joining scenarios that touch it.
8 rules
You must remain in character at all times during active roleplay. If you need to speak out of character, use /ooc or wrap your message in [square brackets]. Frequent OOC interruptions that break immersion are not acceptable.
Do not force actions, outcomes, or abilities upon other players that they have no chance of countering. Example: "/me breaks free from the handcuffs in one second" without giving the officer a chance to react. Roleplay is collaborative.
Using out-of-character information to benefit your character in-game is strictly prohibited. This includes acting on information seen from streams, spectating, or out-of-character Discord conversations. Your character only knows what they were told or witnessed in-game.
Always act in a way that is realistic and makes sense for your character and the situation. This includes valuing your life, acting appropriately under stress, and not performing actions that break the immersive experience for others.
Disconnecting during an active RP scenario, police pursuit, robbery, or any form of in-progress conflict is strictly forbidden. If you have a genuine emergency, notify someone via /ooc before disconnecting.
Your character should have a believable personality and backstory. Switching character behaviour drastically mid-scenario without RP justification is considered fail RP. Each character you play should be distinctly their own person.
Provide meaningful, immersive RP scenarios for others to engage with. One-line interactions, rushing through scenarios, or treating the server as a deathmatch lobby diminishes the experience for everyone.
Scenarios involving extreme torture, sexual content, or graphic gore require explicit out-of-character consent from all involved players. If any party is uncomfortable, the scene must stop immediately. Contact staff if a player refuses.
Combat Rules

7 rules
Killing or attacking another player without a valid in-character reason and prior roleplay interaction is RDM. "I don't like you" is not sufficient reason. Meaningful roleplay must precede any lethal engagement.
Intentionally using a vehicle to injure, kill, or ram other players without a valid RP reason is strictly prohibited. This includes using vehicles to interrupt or end RP scenarios.
Upon being revived by EMS or respawning at the hospital, your character forgets all events that led to their death. You may not return to the location where you died for at least 15 minutes, and you cannot seek revenge for your death.
You must clearly initiate conflict before attacking another player. Initiation means giving a verbal threat or clear in-character reason (e.g. "Get out of the car or I will shoot."). Attacking without initiation is RDM regardless of backstory.
You must value your character's life at all times. If a firearm is aimed at you and you have no realistic chance of escape or defence, you must comply. Ignoring weapons pointed at you or acting fearless when clearly outgunned is a violation.
EMS may not revive players during an active, ongoing gunfight. Wait for the situation to be fully resolved before requesting or providing medical assistance.
Violence must be escalated progressively. You cannot jump from a verbal argument directly to lethal force unless your life is in immediate and credible danger. RP must build naturally toward confrontation.
Criminal Activity
Review every item in this section before joining scenarios that touch it.
6 rules
Robbing another player requires meaningful RP buildup and a credible in-character motive. You cannot rob someone the moment you see them. Brief interactions (e.g., robbing a wallet) require minimal setup; larger heists require significant preparation.
Criminal activity (robbery, assault, kidnapping) is strictly prohibited inside designated safe zones: hospital parking areas and active EMS zones. These areas exist to protect EMS workers who provide RP service to all players.
You may not rob the same player more than once within a 30-minute window. Repeatedly targeting the same individual is considered harassment and a form of griefing.
Robbing a store requires you to initiate the robbery verbally ("This is a robbery, give me the money.") and allow the clerk or owner time to react. Silent robbery or instant kill-then-loot is not permitted.
Gang territory disputes must be conducted through in-character roleplay. Unprovoked killing of rival gang members without established IC conflict is RDM. Reach out in-character to establish a beef before escalating to violence.
Kidnapping another player requires a clear in-character motive and meaningful RP buildup. You must allow the victim to engage with the scenario. Kidnapping purely to rob or grief without RP purpose is not permitted.
Law Enforcement
Review every item in this section before joining scenarios that touch it.
5 rules
When stopped or detained by a law enforcement officer, comply unless you have an established, pre-existing in-character reason to flee (e.g., active crime in progress with prior RP setup). Random evasion with no RP reason is cop baiting.
Deliberately provoking police officers by performing crimes in front of them, driving circles around them, or constantly harassing them without in-character intent is considered cop baiting and will be treated as fail RP.
You must have a valid, established in-character reason to flee a police pursuit. "I just felt like it" is not acceptable. Fleeing must be a consequence of actual in-game criminal activity, not boredom.
Police must make a genuine, good-faith attempt at negotiation during hostage situations before using force. Rushing in without any roleplay is not permitted. Hostage takers must have realistic demands and allow time for negotiation.
Corrupt police roleplay scenarios must be pre-approved by staff. If you are interested in running a corruption arc, submit a ticket in Discord outlining the scenario before beginning.
Vehicle Rules
Review every item in this section before joining scenarios that touch it.
4 rules
Performing unrealistic stunts, impossible jumps, or constantly driving in a manner that breaks the RP atmosphere is not permitted. Drive in a manner consistent with the roleplay environment.
Stealing police cruisers, ambulances, or fire trucks requires a strong, pre-established in-character justification and meaningful RP. Do not grab emergency vehicles simply to troll or escape police.
Stealing a player-owned vehicle is permitted with reasonable RP motive. You may not lock-pick or steal a vehicle in a safe zone or hospital area. The owner must have an opportunity to respond if present.
Excessive speeding through populated civilian areas (city centres, markets, housing areas) without in-character reason creates an unrealistic environment. Drive with purpose and awareness of pedestrians.
Staff & Conduct

5 rules
If you witness a rule violation, use the /report command in-game or open a ticket in our Discord. Do not attempt to enforce the rules yourself (mini-modding) as this creates conflict and is discouraged.
Claiming to be a staff member or using a name or title that implies authority you do not have is an immediate ban. This includes in-game and on Discord.
All bans can be appealed via the #ban-appeals channel in our Discord. Appeals must be respectful, factual, and include any relevant evidence. Abusive or repeat appeals without new information will be denied.
If you discover an exploit, glitch, or loophole in the rules or game mechanics, report it to staff immediately via a Discord ticket. Exploiting it — even once — will result in punishment. Reporters are rewarded.
It is not your job to enforce the rules on other players. Publicly calling out other players in /ooc, Discord, or in-game chat for rule violations creates unnecessary conflict. Submit a proper report and let staff handle it.
